Kyle Secor portrays Daniel Cavanaugh, Kathleen Maguire’s ex-husband, the District Attorney whose aspirations of becoming the next Governor color his every move in “Philly.”
Secor was born in Tacoma and grew up in the small town of Federal Way, Washington. He became interested in acting at a young age, performing in school plays. Catching the attention of a group of agents in 1987, he landed a plumb role in the popular NBC daytime drama “Santa Barbara.”
Secor’s other television credits include the NBC made-for-television movies, “In the Line of Duty: Standoff at Marian,” “Inherit the Wind,” with Jason Robards and Kirk Douglas and “Beauty’s Revenge,” with Courtney Thorne-Smith and Tracey Gold. He also had a recurring role in the award-winning NBC drama series, “St. Elsewhere” as well as guest starring roles in “Eerie, Indiana,” “Middle Ages” and “Tales From the Crypt.”
Secor’s co-starring role on the television series “Homicide: Life on the Street,” came after he amassed an impressive list of feature films such as “Sleeping With the Enemy,” “City Slickers,” “The Doctor,” “Heart of Dixie,” “Baboon Heart” and “Drop Zone.”
Secor’s theater credits include Anthony and Cleopatra, The Lion in Winter, A Comedy of Errors, Charley’s Aunt, Equus, Romeo and Juliet and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.
Physically adept, Secor is a Certified Yoga Instructor and has been
trained in Kung Fu and Karate. He
plays basketball, tennis and has great track skills.
He currently splits his time between Los Angeles and Baltimore.
