CLASSY REUNION by Illeane Rudolph
Throughout most of Homicide's seven-season run, which ended last spring, the prickly partnership of Pembleton (Andre Braugher) and Bayliss (Kyle Secor) was the heart and soul of the compelling detective drama. TV Guide put the two actors on the phone together to chat about Homicide: The Movie (NBC, February 13, 9PM/EST)
TVGuide: It was rumored, Andre, that you had reservations abou the movie.
Braugher: Knowing that (executive producer) Tom Fontana and Homicide writers Jim Yoshimura and Eric Overmyer were writing the script, I had complete confidence it would be terrific. Plus the added incentive that I would be back with my favorite acting partner, Kyle Secor.
Secor: I'm blushing.
TVG: What brings all the characters back?
Braugher: Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) gets shot. Everybody comes back to find the shooter.
TVG: What about Bayliss's romantic life?
Secor: He's reunited with the love of his life.
Braugher: Don't go there.
Secor: I mean homicide investigations, That's his mistress.
TVG: What was it like on the set?
Braugher: Everybody's irascible nature fled. It was a joyous reunion.
Secor: A masterpiece of chaos.
TVG: You two have great chemistry. Any plans to work together again?
Secor: We'd have to be antagonists next time.
